Flamengo defeated Independiente Medellín 4-1 on the night of April 17, at Maracanã, in the second round of Group A of the Libertadores. The goals from Lucas Paquetá, Bruno Henrique, Giorgian de Arrascaeta, and Pedro guaranteed the biggest victory of the campaign, while the Colombian team has not yet shaken the nets.

Flamengo opened the scoring at 15 minutes, when Lucas Paquetá received a precise pass and finished with tranquility. Independiente reacted at 40 minutes, with Yony Gonzalez scoring the only goal for his team. But the Rubro-Negro response was immediate: Bruno Henrique equalized just before the interval, taking advantage of a stationary ball that found the area. In the second half, the dominance was even greater; at 49 minutes, Giorgian de Arrascaeta extended the lead, and the fifth goal, in the final minutes of the game, came from Pedro, sealing the convincing victory.

In addition to Paquetá, who set the tone for the match, Bruno Henrique showed efficiency on set pieces, while Giorgian de Arrascaeta shone in the movements between lines, creating space for the attack. Pedro, still without scoring until the end, took advantage of the exhaustion of the opposing defense to close the scoring. On the Medellín side, Yony Gonzalez was the only one to manage to shake the nets, but he couldn't sustain the offensive pressure.
